Winter event and calendar updates *corrected*

Hi, everyone! Here are a few updates to put on you calendars:

  • *Updated* Tomorrow (Tuesday, December 8th) the girls have a performance at the Yorba Linda Country Club at 7:00pm. Please be there no later than 6:15pm – the girls are doing a dance by Amanda and Natalie Gold from last week’s concert entitled “Eclipse.”
  • The January Cultural Dance show has been canceled. It was originally scheduled for January 6th, 7th, and 8th; however, due to a crazy schedule we are going to try to do it later in the school year.
  • *Updated* The girls have no zero period tomorrow (Tuesday, December 8th) or Wednesday (December 9th). They deserve a few days of extra sleep since they probably didn’t get any last week.
  • No Tuesday after-school rehearsals until February 2nd – Ms. Maes’ Christmas gift to them! 🙂
  • We have a YLHS rally performance Friday, January 15th in the gym (at the usual assembly times).
  • The Community Dance Festival is Friday, February 5th from 3:00pm-10:00pm in the Forum.
  • There will be a YLHS Basketball half-time performance in the school gym on Tuesday, February 9th. We will be honoring our seniors after their performance!

Welcome Back Dance Company!

Hello, everyone! The time you’ve all been looking forward to is fast approaching – the start of a new school year! 🙂

Here are a few, quick reminders about the first couple of weeks’ start-up procedures:

  • There is no zero period on the first day of school.
  • Dance Co will meet on Wednesday, September 2nd at 6:45am – no dressing out, we will have a meeting.
  • Uniform money is due the first week of school: $625 for new members and $510 for returners. Please make all checks payable to “YLHS Dance Company”.
  • The girls will start Tuesday after-school rehearsals on September 8th (3:oopm-5:00pm).
  • Technique with Brooke will start the 2nd week of school.
  • There will be a parent meeting on Back to School Night – Wednesday, September 16th.

Don’t forget! Tryouts May 14th

Just a friendly reminder tryouts for the 2015-2016 Yorba Linda HS Dance Company will be held tomorrow (Thursday, May 14th) from 4:00-7:00pm in the small gym at the high school.  All YLHS students who plan to audition for Dance Company should have already turned in a completed clearance packet and physical (signed by your doctor) to Mrs. Roberts in the high school office (Note: returners are fine and can use the one from earlier this year).  Please see this flyer for more information.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Dance Company tryouts May 14th

Calling all Mustang students! Auditions for the 2015-2016 Yorba Linda HS Dance Company will be held on Thursday, May 14th from 4:00-7:00pm in the small gym at the high school. If you’re new to YLHS, click here for a map and address. Please note: there will also be a mandatory meeting for all 2015-2016 dance company members and parents following tryouts (date TBD).

All YLHS students who plan to audition for Dance Company must fill out a “modified” clearance packet and have a completed physical (signed by your doctor) turned in by May 13th to Mrs. Roberts in the high school office.  Returners are fine and can use the one from earlier this year. Please see this flyer for more information.  We look forward to seeing you there!
