Ava Curran

Hello! My name is Ava Curran. I have been a part of the Dance Company program for 3 years and I am one of the captains for the 2022-2023 year. I love reading, writing, Formula One and food. Currently, I am looking at Cal States and UC’s for either psychology or genetics. My top schools are UC Irvine, Cal State Fullerton, and Cal State San Marcos!

Callie Hansen

Hi, my name is Callie Hansen. I am a YLHS sophomore. I’ve been dancing for 12 years, and this is my first year on Dance Company. Dance has always been my passion and I would love to continue my dance career in college. In the future, I see myself becoming a pediatric nurse. I hope you get a chance to see us dance!

Christianna Hawkins

I’m Christianna Hawkins, the only junior in the Dance Company this year. I have been on Dance Co. since freshman year. I have five siblings and am the youngest in my family. I currently dance at Chavarria Institute of the Arts. In the future I hope to move to New York and stay there for college. I love to dance, it is the most free form of expression. I love how every movement has a meaning that surpasses words. I love being in Dance Co. with my friends. It is a beautiful family that I have grown with over time.

Chloe Huang

Hi! My name is Chloe Huang and I am a freshman this year. I have been dancing for a little over a year and my favorite dance genre is either contemporary or hip hop. Dance Company has helped me gain the confidence I need as a dancer to succeed. This team has helped me in my technique and my ability to perform. I have also made so many new friendships within the team. The captains and the coaches make it such a safe and positive environment. Overall, I love Dance Company and I am so excited for the year ahead of us!

Selah Kim

Hi, I’m a senior at YLHS and I have been on dance company since sophomore year. At the moment, I am not applying for college because I will be taking a year off from school for traveling and an internship. I plan to go into the field of psychology because I find the subject fascinating and applicable. My main hobbies are dancing and writing, but I also love to paint and crochet.

Lana Makarian

Hi my name is Lana Makarian! I’m captain and a four year member of the YLHS Dance Company. I am currently seventeen years old and plan on pursuing the medical field! I just got accepted to the CBU nursing program and am waiting to hear on others! I plan on being a nurse practitioner and I’m currently working as a medical assistant at a medical clinic! Dance was always my way on expressing my artistic side, and dancing all these years with my amazing team has truly been unreal! It’s an honor to be captain and help guide these wonderful dancers grow into their full potential!

Terri Neal

Hi, I’m Terri and I’m a senior here at YLHS. I’ve been on Dance Co for 2 years and these girls have become my dance sisters. I love spending time with my friends and family, eating food and traveling. Currently, one of my top colleges I want to go to is Cal State Long Beach as a kinesiology major. My favorite season is summer but I enjoy the Christmas holiday and music.

Angelina Pintang

 Hi I’m Angelina Pintang, a current senior on Dance Company. This is sadly my first and last year on the team and I couldn’t be more thankful for the girls on the team. I currently work at a gymnastics gym where I get to teach gymnastics to children between the ages of 3-16 and I absolutely love it. I currently want to become an elementary school teacher and at the moment I really want to go to SDSU or UCI. A fun fact about me is I’m a lefty when it comes to turns and tricks 🙂

Kalia Renteria

My name is Kalia Renteria, I am a senior at Yorba Linda high school. This is my 2nd year on the team. Dance has taught me how to be a leader and how to work together with others. A tv show I like to watch on my free time is 
The Flash and I love to paint as well as help out at my church. My goals for the future consist of hopefully continuing my studies at Cal State Fullerton and majoring in psychology, the field of child development and behavioral analysis where this will help lead me into being a child therapist.

Rayva Sehmi

Hi!! My name is Rayva Sehmi and I am a freshman. A little bit about myself is that I am into fashion,public speaking,and dance. I aspire to go to college in New York CIty. My favorite style of dancing is Hip Hop. This is my first year on dance co and I absolutely love it!!

Safiya Sloan

Hi! My name is Safiya and I’m a freshman on the YLHS dance team. I love the bonds I’ve created with the girls on the team and being able to dance with them. My favorite style of dance is hip hop. I’ve learned a lot already from being on the team. The coaches and captains are very encouraging and I can’t wait to spend the rest of the year with them!
