Friday, February 13th is our first Festival! The show is called “And We Danced.” We are celebrating the LOVE of dance from all over the dance community. Several studios and high schools have been invited to perform – this year we will have Brea Olinda High School, Buena Park High School, Villa Park High School, The Dance Spot and Yorba Linda Middle School as our guest artists. There are 17 numbers in the show with YLHS Dance Company performing 3 dances chosen from our Fall show.

Here is a schedule of events:

• 3:00pm-5:00pm – All groups will perform in a mini-concert/tech rehearsal
• 5:00pm-6:00pm – BBQ tailgate
• 6:00pm – Call time/warm up
• 7:00pm – Showtime!

Jamie Kough has been so kind to organize our BBQ tailgate (before the show) to continue the theme of LOVE and celebrate everyone coming together. If you have any questions regarding the BBQ, please click here to email Jamie.

Tickets will go on sale next week – $8.00 pre-sale and $10.00 at the door (per person). Invite all of your family and friends to come celebrate and enjoy our exciting community Dance Festival!

Hi, everyone! Just a reminder this Friday, January 16th, is the YLHS Battle of the Sexes rally. The girls have been working on an amazing performance – please come to show your support and wear your Dance Co apparel! There are two performances: Rally A begins at 8:51am, and Rally B begins at 9:47am. Dance Company will be the first performance at each rally. Go Mustangs!

Smiles all around! YL Dance Co recently performed at the CSUF Dance Team Showcase. Thanks to everyone for coming out and supporting our girls!

A BIG THANK YOU to Chapman University for coming out and teaching a master class and performing an amazing show!

Chapman University Dance is doing their annual tour of area high schools and will be visiting YLHS on Thursday, January 8th during 4th period and lunch. They will be performing a concert for Ms. Maes’ entire dance department, teaching a master class, responding to Q and A’s after the class and auditioning any students interested in Chapman University Dance. This is an exciting opportunity and if your girls are considering dance after high school, please encourage them to audition.

Exciting news! Mark your calendars for Sunday, January 11th at 6:00pm – Dance Company has been invited to perform in the CSUF Dance Team Showcase! Our girls will be performing with many other schools, teams and studios in the CSUF gymnasium. ** The girls need to be there at 4:45pm to warm up and get into order. **

We invite all of you to come and wear a Dance or YLHS shirt to show your school pride! Parking is free on Sundays and entry is free into the showcase as well. Here is the address and map for directions – hope to see you all there!

Our first ever Fall dance concert is almost here! The ladies of YLHS Dance Company have been working hard to create amazing works to go with our theme of “The Giving Tree Through Dance.” We have two shows – Friday, December 5th and Saturday, December 6th – at 7:00pm in the Forum. Pre-sale tickets are $8.00 and will be $10.00 at the door (cash or check) – please make checks payable to “YLHS Dance”. Our shows fill up quickly so be sure to order your tickets ahead of time! If you have any questions, please contact Miss Maes for more information.

Parents – if you haven’t already signed up, Miss Maes needs all hands on deck to make both nights run smoothly – please send us an email as soon as possible confirming your availability to volunteer at this special event. Thanks for your support!

Come watch these lovely ladies perform tomorrow (Friday, October 24th) at the YLHS Homecoming Rally! It’s a great performance – they have been working very hard on it. The first rally is at 8:51am and the second one is at 9:47am. Don’t be late – they are the first ones to perform. Go Mustangs!
